Kabila
(Laurent-Désiré) (né en 1941) homme politique de la rép. dém. du Congo. Député partisan de Lumumba (1960-1962), il vécut à partir de 1963 dans le maquis, à la frontière du Zaïre et de la Tanzanie. Quand, à l'automne 1996, la minorité tutsi de l'est du Zaïre se rebella, il prit la tête d'une armée qui entra dans Kinshasa en mai 1997. Rendant au Zaïre son anc. nom, il se proclama alors président de la république démocratique du Congo.
